At the end of each challenge, completed pieces will be submitted to our panel of judges. They will select a winner(s) based on the criteria for the project. Winner(s) will receive prizes. Past prizes include $150 Cash money to the first place winner.

This is for Members ONLY. All levels of membership, Social, Maker, Bench, are encouraged to participate.

You will have roughly 3 months to work on each challenge.

Alloy will host a “Share Party” at the end of each challenge. This is the absolute deadline for projects to be considered by the jury. Participants will bring their piece to the party to show it off and celebrate their hard work! At the conclusion, all projects will be left with the Alloy team to be considered by the jury the following week.
Can’t make it to the share party? DON’T FRET!Email julianne@alloymetalsmithing to receive the code to our lock box outside the studio to drop off your project anytime 24/7 before the deadline.

After the fourth and final challenge, Alloy will host a gallery exhibition featuring the work from all of the challenges combined.
This exhibition is an opportunity for friends, family, and the public to view and purchase the work generated during the challenges.

Participants were challenged to design a piece of jewelry inspired by their favorite fairytale! Each piece needed to reflect the chosen story without words.
We saw magic mirrors, dragons scales, classic fables and medieval tales! Our members blew us away with creativity and effort.
Spring: Rings that ‘DO’ Things
Spring: Rings that ‘DO’ Things
Participants were challenged to design a ring that also included one additional functional feature.
We had rings with drawers, lids, knights helmets that hinged, rings that could move spring whistle and shift!
