How it works
Step 1: Book your investment appointment.
The process starts the first Thursday of each month (unless otherwise noted). Choose a 15-minute investment slot between 10 AM – 1 PM — one appointment per flask.
Step 2: Prep your waxes.
By the start of your scheduled investment appointment, your waxes must be weighed and secured to the flask base so your flask is ready to invest.
You’re welcome to come to the studio any time after 10:00 AM on Thursday to prepare your waxes (before your investment appointment). Need more time to prep your waxes? You may want to consider booking a day pass, if you are not a bench member.
Step 3: Invest your flask.
At your scheduled time complete your investment. You’ll work independently, but our casting assistant will be nearby if you need a quick check. Once finished, your flask is added to the Friday casting lineup.
Step 4: Burnout overnight.
Your flask spends the night in the kiln — we’ll handle the burnout so it’s ready to pour the next day.
Step 5: Cast on Friday (1 PM – 2:30 PM).
Time to pour metal. Show up on time, stay for the session, and enjoy the best part of the process. Instructor is will be there during the whole session to assist.
