Need some posing advice?
First and foremost, be yourself. Taking a few minutes to think about your shoot ahead of time will help your time in front of the camera feel relaxed instead of rushed. Props can help with that and can also clearly communicate “metalsmith” if that is the look you’re going for. Wear your favorite apron. Put on your optivisor, yes, even if it feels a little dorky. Wear the jewelry you actually make. Hold a hammer, saw, or file. These small choices help the photo feel polished, confident, and unmistakably you.

Rita grew up on a farm in Iowa, where her incredible work ethic was formed, and graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her professional photography career started in the event photography industry, where she won numerous awards and rave reviews.
